> A tool won’t make you productive. Without the skill to support it, a tool is useless.
- With productivity tools and completed work, without adequately applied pressure (skill) a tool wont help you get any more done that using the simplest of tools and processes
- Often masters can accomplish more with the most basic of tools as they have the skill to support their work and the knowledge of where to 'apply pressure' where as someone lacking in this expertise outsources their skill in favor of software to manage the work for them, This 'exerts a lot of pressure' but it is not in the correct place.
- a good analogy would be a brawler and an aikido master. The brawler just launches at the master with abandon and 'maximum pressure' where as the aikido master calmly relies on skill to know where and when to strike with the appropriate amount of pressure for maximum effect with minimal effort.
- [[Productivity tools are a crutch for those lacking skill in the work to feel as if they are achieving results rather than just playing with kanban cards]]
