To plumb the depths of our our associations between thoughts, ideas, and concepts, we can make use of a particular exercise called [[ABC lists are a great tool for associative thinking|ABC-Lists]] developed by [[@Vera F. Birkenbihl]]. ^066de8
To use this exercise simply write out a list of the 26 English alphabet and then think of the topic and for each association write that word next to the letter it starts with.
### Example
`Topic:` "White"
| Letter | Association |
|:------:|:-------------------------------------------- |
| A | Airpods, Albinism, Asatru |
| B | Bow |
| C | Car, Complacency |
| D | Door, Domination |
| E | Entitlement |
| F | Flight |
| G | |
| H | Hair |
| I | Ignorance, Indigenous, [[Infrahumanization]] |
| J | |
| K | Kitchen |
| L | |
| M | Man, Marble |
| N | Nationalists |
| O | |
| P | Privilege, Pale, Power, People, Pride |
| Q | |
| R | Rose, Racism |
| S | Stone, Supremacy, Sociology |
| T | Table |
| U | Ubermensch^[[[Infrahumanization#^cd74bd]]] |
| V | |
| W | Wash |
| X | |
| Y | |
| Z | |
You have the list and you fill in the associations with the topic.
- You can have as many words for each letter as you want
- You can use different languages
- if topic: `Vision` then *eyes* in English for **E** and *augen* for **A** in Deutsch
- You can leave Letters blank if nothing comes to mind
- Some do this until ideas run out
- Others may set a timer for the exercise
