#### Decision making is wearying and takes resources from other domains of life
---
Decision making and actively thinking of options and choices especially in the modern world where we constantly face the paralysis of choice with the sheer volume of options presented to us is a monumental cognitive undertaking.
The more choices we have to make the more thought and cognitive resources are devoted to the act of choice making. This sounds like a supporting argument for not making any choices which it is not. Potential alternatives are:
- to minimize choice volume
- make choices in advance
- reduce the amount of choices that need to be made
For individuals with [[Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder]] and executive dysfunction^[[[With poor executive function even activities you would like to do become difficult to approach]]] this means that making decisions in general is already difficult and could greatly benefit from the aforementioned alternative measures to paralysis of choice.
