#### [[Doom Scrolling]] --- Doom scrolling is defined by wikipedia as: > the act of consuming a large quantity of negative online news at once. Mental health experts have stated that the practice can be detrimental to mental health. Doom scrolling is bad due to multiple facets, for one you are receiving constant doses of adrenaline, fear, and anxiety. For another, if you have a mental disorder that impacts executive function^[[[With poor executive function even activities you would like to do become difficult to approach]]] and self regulation like [[Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder]] then you already struggle with stopping yourself from scrolling even in the best of times. The scrolling can be a constant stream of dopamine or it can be a constant stream of panic and anxiety. Ultimately, for those with [[Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder]] the inability to stop scrolling causes issues enough^[[[People with ADHD do not have a lack of attention only an issue regulating attention]]], but coupled with the content being negative and toxic then you have a recipe for a disaster.
