> A man may seem wise
> if he pokes fun at another
> and sustains a fellow guest.
> But the man who talks
> behind another man's back
> knows little even if he laughs with men
- If someone is entertaining at a gathering at the expense of others, doing it behind that person's back shows they know very little.
- Maybe not very little of the person, but very little about wisdom.
- Words have power to spark wars and wreak havok and death. Used flippantly its a fools mistake.
- Just because people are laughing with you doesn't mean they agree with, or that they support your statements.
- It simply means you were entertaining for an evening
- Maybe they want to avoid being the next victim of your humor
- Maybe they don't want to appear as the stand out and alert that person that they have an enemy
- Using people for the fodder of your jokes is showing your own insecurities
- This may make you appear "wise" or able to weave infectious humor and laughter
- but in reality its just a loudspeaker to your own insecurity
- *"HAHA LOOK AT ALL THEIR FLAWS!... but not mine..."*
- It's easier to laugh at another than to laugh at one's self.
