Redundancy is not wasted time/effort if it solidifies information via connection through different neural pathways, contexts, or angles:
`Pi = ?` passive and active recall
`3.14 = ?` know that pi = 3.14 (active) but maybe not immediately that 3.14 = Pi so use both cards to solidify passive recognition of ** 3.14 as Pi**
In Norwegian Language Learning:
`Hund = ?` (_Dog_)
`dog = ?` (_Hund_)
`<picture of a dog>` (_Hund_)
`audio of "Hund"` (_Dog_)
The same information, the fact that 'dog' is 'hund' in Norwegian. Just approached 4 different ways. [[For useful learning it helps to connect a piece of information to as many meaningful contexts as possible]].
