#### The act of pure creation is more appealing than the copying of a well known solution --- The act of creating something from scratch and figuring out all the bumps in the road is often a more fun and engaging approach for humans as we want to feel ownership of what we do. Fun matters. If the task at hand is fun and engaging because it is a puzzle or a challenge we're likely going to learn more by delving into the minutia but also because we have intimate buy-in we're likely willing to go farther to continue with our creation because it is just that: Ours. A byproduct of this raw creation instead of relying on well established solutions is that: - We gain an intimate understanding of the material - We can remove the unnecessary - We can discover new innovations, ideas, and information for others --- Tags: [[Creation]] - [[Independence]] - [[Learning]] - [[Education]] References: [[% 2020-10-06 Derek Sivers Innovation Versus imitation]] Related: - [[ADHD hyperfocus is a double edged sword of both deep work and avoidance]]
