#### The social contract of the returned shopping cart --- This social contract is really just an analysis of how willing someone is to go out of their way to save someone else inconvenience. Would you leave a cart hiked up on one of those planter curbs as that's most convenient for you (you don't need to return the cart to the cart return) or would you go out of your way slightly to return the cart so that a store employee doesn't need to go hunt down your cart from the lot and instead can just collect them from the designated drop point. There is no reward for returning the cart, there is only expenditure of your own effort, but what it shows if that you have a more collectivist mentality towards society and that you are a good contributing member to a social society. You tend to act as a member of the group and less individualistic. To perform the task of returning the cart requires the ability to self govern and control your behavior so that you can be well adjusted to a society. --- Tags: [[Self Governance]] - [[Social Skills]] - [[Psychology]] References: [[( 2020-09-29 How to Know if You're an Asshole]] Related: - [[With poor executive function even activities you would like to do become difficult to approach]]
