- A melding of opposites to create the new in the void that calls for it
- Centering then expanding from that centralized point outwards ([[Isa|ᛁ]] + [[Kenaz|ᚲ]] Reversed = [[Thurisaz|ᚦ]])
- [[Isa|ᛁ]] frozen moment in time
- [[Kenaz|ᚲ]] reversed fiery passion and consumption
- Raw power of creation hence it being the rune for [[Thor]]
- Wild & Raw elements
- Shaped like a thorn on a vine
- Destruction, defense, protection
- Symbolized by brambles and thorns
- Defensive protection like [[Thor]]
- Destruction but different than wanton destruction
- [[Jotunn]]'s are natural and indiscriminate forces
- [[Thor]]'s destruction is like intentional man made choices to destroy for purpose
- Clearing forest for a village plot of land
- Taming wild forces for peace
- Also impulsive temper and killing [[Jotunn]]'s due to anger and no other reason
- Thurs (Giant) [[Jotunn]]
- When you lay it on it's side [[Thurisaz|ᚦ]] it looks like a mountain
- Lightning and thunder like [[Mjolnir|Mjölnir]]
- The bane of women (Rune of force and will)
- Temper and destruction causing the breakdown of society/structure
- Bad relations with the opposite sex
- Raw power and uncontrolled impulses
