It's already been chewed, swallowed, digested, and brought back up again for your you to chew. Gross analogy but its true. When you read you are reading and following the distilled thought process of the author and taking the seat of a passive observer. **To truly learn from a book or written medium you must become an active participant** in the process and actively think about, and reflect on what the author is say and what the author is **not** saying.
